About Us

Outdoor Rumors is the premier online resource for those that want up to date information and reviews on home improvement, gardening, and landscaping products and services. We believe in giving our readers the best possible information so that they can make informed decisions about which products and services to use.

Our focus is on providing the very best high quality reviews and information on solar energy, garden rooms, conservatories, summerhouses, log cabins, kitchens, bathrooms, heat pumps, and underfloor heating.

Our aim is to be as authentic as possible. Founder Des Dreckett has bootstrapped the company from his garage, and we now have a team of writers that test and review products on a daily basis.

The revenue comes from affiliate links and banner ads, but we believe in always putting the reader first. So, for that reason, we have maintained editorial independence and will continue to do so.

Despite rapid growth, the site remains focused on quality content and providing an excellent user experience. We have a strict no-nonsense policy when it comes to spam, and we moderate comments to keep the conversation on track.

We believe that our mix of informative articles, helpful guides, and product reviews makes us the perfect one-stop-shop for anyone looking for information on home improvements.

We hope you enjoy Outdoor Rumors and we appreciate your readership. We encourage constructive feedback and comments so that we can continue to improve the site for everyone.

Feel free to contact us, or use the comment section below each article, if you have any questions or suggestions. You can also connect with us via social media on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.

Other Freelance Contributors

We have a range of freelance contributors that write for us on a regular basis. These include experts in the fields of solar energy, gardening, and home improvement. We only work with freelancers that we know and trust to produce high-quality content.

Our Content

Starting with outdoor buildings, we cover summerhouses, conservatories, garden rooms, log cabins and shed articles: Our round-ups provide an overview of the home improvements in a particular category,in addition to in-depth reviews and informational content about individual product.

To publish these articles we do in-depth research on the topic, interview experts in the field, and test products ourselves. This ensures that our readers get accurate, up-to-date information that they can trust.

We then whittle down our favourites and provide our top picks in each category, as well as links to where you can buy them.

In addition to this, we also write articles offering advice and tips on a range of topics relating to home improvements. These include guides on how to install underfloor heating, solar panels, and more.

You'll find an array of different price points too, from the very cheapest to the high-end. We don't believe in recommending products that are out of people's price range, so you can be sure that all of our recommendations are affordable.

We also keep an eye on the latest news and developments in the home improvement industry, and we regularly update our articles to reflect any changes. This means that you can always be sure that you're getting the most up-to-date information.

Our Process

The content we produce is a direct reflection of our process. We start by researching a topic thoroughly, before writing a draft article. This is then sent to our team of expert editors, who will check for accuracy and make any necessary changes.

Once the article has been approved by our editors, it is then sent to our fact-checkers. These are people with specific knowledge in the field that the article is about. They check for any errors and make sure that everything is correct.

After this, the article is sent to our proofreaders. They will read through the article again and check for any spelling or grammatical errors. Once they're happy, the article is then published on our website.

Unlike most other websites, we try to get as hands on as possible with the products we write about. This means that we actually test them out for ourselves, so that we can give our readers first-hand experience of using them.

We also believe in complete transparency, which is why we always disclose any affiliate relationships we have with companies. You can rest assured that we're only ever recommend products that we genuinely believe in.

What Sets Us Apart

We like to think that there are a few things that set us apart from other home improvement websites. Our team of experts have a lot of experience in the industry. This means that we really know what we're talking about when it comes to home improvements.
